My kindergarteners did an art project today. Since Thanksgiving is coming up, I decided that we would make these adorable little turkeys to hang in the hallway.
I asked each child what they were the most thankful for. I got quite an array of answers, just as I expected. What did surprise me, though, was that most of the kids were thankful for the little things in life.
One child was thankful for strawberries.
One gave a shoutout to monkeys.
One expressed his love for books.
And then there was the child who was most thankful for bunnies....the mommy bunnies that have soft little babies.
I want to be more mindful of the little things.
In the upcoming weeks before Thanksgiving...when you are in the midst of thankful thinking.....don't overlook the small stuff.
There is no blessing too small to name and give recognition to.

Saw this on Pinterest. Love the turkeys. What did you use for the feathers? I am a kindergarten teacher and a mom of 4 so I am always looking for ideas. :)
The feathers are made from leftover scrapbook pages. I had a whole stack of pages left from my scrapbooking days. The body is made from brown construction paper and the turkey is glued to a brown paper bag. Have fun!
